Possible suggestion for the site

Post by thegreywolfe » Wed Aug 26, 2009 6:13 am

I've been thinking about this for a bit, but I don't know how to do it, and I'm not sure I want to play with exporting into excel and running the formulas there. What I've been thinking is having an additional selection for what class and crafting type your character does, kind of an additional filter option. Once you select it, you can give it a percentage that your are looking for and it could sort through the current resource spawns and tell you if any of them would be high quality for your crafting, as well as which schematics it might be good for. Is it possible to set something like this up?

I guess the best way to put it would be a filter, that checks the list to see if any of the resources currently spawned would be ideal for your class. does that help?

Ok, I've played around with it and can't figure it out. Is there a set of instructions for the resource guards? I set up a couple and it doesn't seem to catch a current spawn that meets my requirements. I have one set up of Low Grade Ore with a threshold of 950, calc no-stat checked and 950 under DR and OQ. Now there is currently a spawn of ore on mustafar that more than meets my minimum requirements, but the guard has not pinged to it. Can I get some help with this please? Thanks.

The threshold is not used for plain guards (Guards based on the resource stat, not on a weighed percentage). In your case, if you set the threshold to 0, it should work.

Another quick question on it, the calc no stat, does that mean if I put a check in it I can put in 95 and it'll grab anything that's 95% or higher on a stat?

The calc no-stat is only used in weighed guards. It means that if a stat is missing, the remaining relevant stats get the percentage the missing stat should have had.

Example:
You set up a guard that has DR, PE and OQ (Set at 33% each) with a threshold of 900 <- A weighed guard.

A resource comes along with DR=950, PE=896, OQ=900, which gives a rating of 915 ((950+896+900)/3)

Another resource comes along with DR=855, OQ=946, but PE missing. Without no-stat checked, this would give a rating of 600 ((855+946)/3). With no-stat checked, it would give a rating of 900 ((855+946)/2). As such, when no-stat is checked, the missing stat is split among the other resources, turning DR and OQ into having a 50% weight each instead of a 33%

I'm having trouble too. I get told that the guard found a resource even when it doesn't meet my criteria. I have the threshold at 0 and the Calc no-stat unchecked and the OQ at 990 and get told I have a match at 919.
