Cybernetics and Armor Cores

I.m looking at the Cybernetics schematics reciently and wundering about the optional armor cores.
Looking at the armorsmiths schematics I see three types Assault, Battle, and Recon. Will any of these fit the slot? (or... 1hat does)
Also, I remember there being looted items that enhanced armor creation (final product). Do these have simular effect on cybernetics? If so can get an updated list of a few of these?

On a side note, I assume that armor corse still have no effect on Droin Armor modules? When I left game last nothing wouyld fit in tbose slots. lol

How popular are the cybernetics these days?
