Fishing

Post by wrackspurt » Wed Jul 29, 2009 3:19 am

I couldn't find a thread for this, so I thought I'd start one.

I've downloaded Orit's instructional video on fishing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pNRiK7oodA

But I was also interested in hearing if anybody else had any tips/tricks. Especially if you've got any suggestions about once you got the fish on the line, not letting it get away.

FISHING!?! What's this fishing you refer to? :mrgreen:

I make fish supplements for pets, but they require no fish to make! :!:

So you can put a gooberfish in your fish tank, and say, "Hey, this thing tried to eat Qui Gon!" :D

But wait, there is more.

Seriously if you want to do the fishing collections and build a fish tank, you need to do all the fishing for it as it is the only way you will be likely to get all of the parts needed for your fish tank. Then too, you can sell all of the extras.

Personally, I use a pair of macros for my fishing.

1) fish
/fish;
/pause 165;
/macro fish

2) Catch
/ui action defaultButton;
/pause 5;
/macro catch

The first macro starts your fishing and will cast your line every 165 seconds. The second hits the default button every 5 seconds. The selection you make doesn't really matter when your fishing, you can tug the line anywhere you want.

Finally, if you are going to use the macro, make sure you come back every hour or so to cut bait and clear up the crap in you inventory.

I didn't realize it was that easy. I assumed you always had to rush the fish during the "Reel in your catch" phase, only not too close.

It is possible to fish with a macro yes, but very, very inefficient. Only those rare time the fish is within 2 meters radius from your toon once the final message comes will do. You must also refresh the bait quite often, etc.

But everyone is happy their own way I guess 8)

lol, yeah, this is true. Fishing like mine is only really useful if you don't have the time to sit and do it right.
